Geophysical Postdoctoral Opportunity at the University of ChicagoApplication Deadline: May 20, 2016
The Department of the Geophysical Sciences at the University of Chicago seeks to hire a postdoctoral researcher to support investigations of the past Mars climate and atmosphere. The successful candidate will work with Assistant Professor Edwin Kite to modify and run Mars mesoscale models and Mars global climate models, and analyze the output of those models. The emphasis of the work will be on processes that operated early in Mars history and during the transition from Mars’ early wetter climate to the present dry climate.
Candidates should have a background in planetary science, Earth science, or astrophysics, and experience with modifying sophisticated numerical models. Start date is flexible.

USRA Postdoctoral Scientist Position at Arecibo ObservatoryApplication Deadline: July 29, 2016
The Universities Space Research Association (USRA) is seeking applicants for a Postdoctoral Scientist position in the Planetary Radar group at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico. This position would involve observations, data processing, archiving, and modeling of near-Earth asteroids and other Solar System bodies with the Arecibo Planetary Radar system. Experience in astronomical observations of Solar System objects, small-bodies geophysics, astronomical instrumentation, and/or numerical inverse modeling is desirable. Experience with radar observations and techniques, programming languages, and Linux systems is preferred but not required. The incumbent would be expected to participate in radar observations and also carry out an independent research program. The Observatory has significant computing facilities. Conference travel and equipment support are available. This position shall be for a two year appointment with the likely renewal of one year. The successful applicant will be a resident in Arecibo, Puerto Rico and will be an employee of USRA.

Two Post-Doctoral Opportunities at the International Space Science Institute in SwitzerlandApplication Deadline: July 31, 2016
The International Space Science Institute (ISSI) has two open positions, one in Space Sciences and the other in Earth Sciences. The successful candidates should have received a Ph.D. within the last five years in a field relating to either Space or Earth Sciences.
Applications for the post-doctoral position in Space Sciences should relate to space physics, solar system sciences, or to astronomy. The successful candidate is expected to pursue his/her independent research program, and will participate in the Institute’s research and meetings program, and will work in close contact with the scientific staff of the Institute. He or she may also lead or participate as a member in projects conducted by international teams at ISSI. Thus he or she will be exposed to, and interact with, a numerous and varied community of scientists from throughout the world.
Submissions should include a letter of application including a brief outline of foreseen research, a curriculum vitae, a list of publications and the names, addresses and means of contact of three references, not exceeding 7 pages in total.
