Researchers have developed a data-rich catalog of stellar properties for nearby stars that will inform upcoming planet-hunting missions like TESS, CHEOPS, and WFIRST. The CATalog of Stellar Unified Properties (CATSUP) includes data for 951 FGK-Stars within 30 parsecs of Earth and will help identify trends in the properties of these nearby stars.

The paper, “A Catalog of Stellar Unified Properties (CATSUP) for 951 FGK-Stars within 30 pc,” was published in the Astrophysical Journal. The work was supported through NASA’s Habitable Worlds Program and the Nexus for Exoplanet System Science (NExSS). NASA Astrobiology provides resources for these and other Research and Analysis programs within the NASA Science Mission Directorate (SMD) that solicit proposals relevant to astrobiology research. NExSS is a NASA research coordination network shared between NASA’s Planetary Science Division (PSD) and the Astrophysics Division.
