NASA and the Navajo Nation's Second Educator Guide

Building on the first booklet, this educator guide, produced in 2011, uses the Moon to explore—from both the scientific and Cultural perspectives—such diverse content topics as the origin of the Solar System and Moon, lunar phases, light and the electromagnetic spectrum, reflectance spectrometry, and the Navajo teachings of K’é and the cradleboard.

Activities from both educator guides are combined into a seamless flow of content learning in Summer camps for Navajo youth and workshops for Navajo teachers held between 2010 and 2014. Download the educator guide here.
