

This year marked the first all-virtual Astrobiology Graduate Conference (AbGradCon), a conference for and by early career scientists interested in the field of astrobiology. AbGradCon 2021 was conducted online within a virtual 2D conference space and included both live and pre-recorded talks followed by live discussion.
Over 100 presentations and flash talks are now available on the NASA Astrobiology YouTube page! Topics include astronomy, biology, chemistry, diversity and inclusion, engineering, geology, instrument design, planetary science, and physics. AbGradCon 2021 was hosted by the Earth-Life Science Institute (ELSI) at Tokyo Tech University from 14-17 September, 2021. This year’s conference marked its 17th year and was the first time in history that the meeting was completely virtual. Each AbGradCon is organized in a different location by a different group of students and postdocs. The next AbGradCon is being planned for Washington, D.C., USA.
