Below is a list of upcoming deadlines for programs and opportunities relevant to the early career astrobiology community. Please check the links for eligibility requirements and additional information.
- 2021 Virtual PI Launchpad
NASASMD, the University of Arizona, the University of Michigan, JPL, and the Heising-Simons Foundation are organizing a virtual workshop in June of 2021 for researchers and engineers who would like to submit a NASA space mission proposal in the next few years but don’t know where to start.

- International Summer School in Astrobiology
The Josep Comas i Solà International Astrobiology Summer School is co-sponsored by the NASA Astrobiology Program and the Centro de Astrobiologia. The summer school is held annually in Santander, Spain.
The application deadline is April 1, 2021, and selections will be made by May 1, 2021.

- NASA Planetary Science Summer School 2021
Offered by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, PSSS is a career development experience with a workload of a rigorous 3-hour graduate-level course. Learn the development of a hypothesis-driven planetary science robotic mission in a concurrent engineering environment while getting an in-depth, first-hand look at mission design, life cycle, costs, schedule & the trade-offs inherent in each.

- Soffen Travel Grant
The Gerald A. Soffen Memorial Fund is offering the Spring 2021 Travel Grant application opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing studies in fields of space science and engineering. The Travel Grants enable student recipients to attend professional conferences to present their research.
Applications due by Apr. 5, 2021 5:00 pm ET for conferences starting on or after May 1, 2021.

- Summer 2021 Young Scientist Program (Blue Marble Space Institute of Science)
Blue Marble Space Institute of Science (BMSIS) provides opportunities for college students and recent grads to participate as Research Associates with the institute, providing opportunities to participate in basic research and to learn about science communication, ethics, policy, and more.

- Lloyd V. Berkner Space Policy Internship Program
Autumn Program 2021 (Undergraduate and Graduate Students)This Space Studies Board internship program encourages applications from undergraduate and graduate students interested in space science and applications.
Applications will be accepted beginning April 1, 2021. The deadline for submitting applications is June 4, 2021; selections will be made by July 2, 2021.
