The astrobiology community has suffered several great losses this year, most recent is Professor Lynn Margulis, a true pioneer in our field. In the very earliest planning stages is the Lynn Margulis Symposium, A Life in Science: in Memory and Celebration. It is scheduled for March 23-25, 2012 at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
