Please join us in congratulating our winner and wild cards from the FameLab regional heat at AGU 2013 in San Francisco on December 8th! Thirteen early career scientists participated in the day – in the morning each contestant gave their first 3-minute, powerpoint-free talk to the judges, and in the afternoon all took part in a training focused on principles and best practices in science communication. Nine advanced to the final round of competition that took place that evening at the California Academy of Sciences, and from those nine, two wild cards and one winner were chosen by the judges.

Ms. March will advance (and join the other regional winners) to the US National Final in April, 2014, and the winner there will advance to the International Final in the UK in June, 2014 to compete with peers from around the world.
