Astrobiologist David Grinspoon has been elected as a 2021 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Grinspoon is a Senior Scientist at the Planetary Science Institute (PSI), and is a former holder of the Baruch S. Blumberg NASA/Library of Congress Chair in Astrobiology, Exploration, and Scientific Innovation.

Grinspoon, a dedicated supporter of early career astrobiologists, has been recognized for research in the field of “comparative terrestrial atmospheres with a particular focus on Venus”, and for “prolific public science communication via books, articles, lectures, and other media.”
