The American Geophysical Union (AGU) has announced the 2021 AGU Fellows, Section Awardees and Named Lecturers, and Union Medal Recipients.

Astrobiologists are among the fifty-nine individuals named as part of the 2021 AGU Class of Fellows. Recipients are recognized for their outstanding achievements and contributions to science. The full list of Fellows is available from the AGU here.

In addition, the different sections of AGU have selected Awardees to recognize scientists who have performed “meritorious work or service toward the advancement and promotion of discovery and solution science.” The full list of awardees is available from the AGU here.

Finally, AGU has also announced the recipients of the Union Medal, Award, and Prize. This is the highest honor awarded for “excellence in scientific research, education, communication, and outreach.” The full list of recipients is available here.

Awardees will be formally recognized at the 2021 Fall Meeting of the AGU.
