Project Progress
Our focus is on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying the advent of complex multicelluar life, specifically the origins of animals from simple unicellular eukaryotes. Further we are concerned with understanding the early evolution of animals and addressing how animals with a gut and nervous system evolved from simpler animals similar to modern sponges.
