Evolution of the Bacteria, Eukarya and Archaea

Presenter: James Staley, University of Washington
When: October 24, 2017 3PM PDT

Carl Woese was the first to develop a Tree of Life based on phylogenetic analyses. His Tree contained three Domains, the Bacteria, Eukarya and Archaea which he discovered in the process. I will discuss how the Nuclear Compartment Commonality hypothesis explains the evolution of the Bacteria and the Eukarya and how the Archaea First hypothesis explains the evolution of the Archaea.
