EPO Activity: Science Inquiry Learning in the Classroom
Project Progress
In the 2011-12 academic year, ABRC’s Monica Brelsford is working with teachers across the state of Montana along with MSU’s Science/Math Resource Center, and Department for Native American Studies to provide a year- long 4 credit course to 28 elementary and secondary teachers. This science course is online based, providing webinars, podcasts, and virtual classroom interactions with scientists. The goal is to create live interactions with teachers and students without the expense of traveling the long distances across Montana. This course is the next generation model of SILC, Science Inquiry Learning in the Classroom and is sponsored by the Office of Public Instruction of Montana.
