EPO Activity: EPO: Science on a Sphere at Pennsylvania Science Centers

Project Progress

The Whitaker Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania is proud to be the first attraction in Pennsylvania to present the remarkable Science On a Sphere display. As the visual centerpiece to its Forces of Nature exhibit, the five-foot animated globe showcases strikingly realistic images of many interesting global phenomena. To further their experience, visitors can choose from a list of pre-recorded programs, in addition to live presentations by science center staff.

The PSARC team is in the early stages of a collaboration with the Whitaker Center in Harrisburg to provide astrobiology related content to their Science on a Sphere. Due to installation problems at the Whitaker Center planning has been delayed, but the sphere is now functioning and the PSARC team will begin collaborating with the Center on an astrobiology related project. The team may also work with the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh and The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia.
