EPO Activity: Interactive Astrobiology Kiosk

Project Progress

A portable, interactive version of the award-winning poster, Astrobiology: Discovering New Worlds of Life (published in 2002), was produced in 2003. The kiosk is available to all members of the NAI scientific and education and public outreach (EPO) teams to be displayed at conferences, schools, universities, and public lectures, as well as museums, science centers, and libraries for public display on a rotational basis. During the past year, it has been on display as part of the exhibit “Extreme Life” at the Thermal Biology Institute at Montana State University (until January 2009). It has since been displayed at the North Carolina Maritime Museum (February 2009), the North Carolina Aquarium (April-June 2009) and the Duke University Marine Lab (June-October 2009). Thousands of NAI EPO products, including the CIW Deep Sea Vents poster, have been distributed to kiosk visitors.
