EPO Activity: NASA Astrobiology Institute Spin-Offs

Project Progress

We have made a renewed effort to explain to non-astrobiologists what spin-offs might come from the NASA Astrobiology Institute. This includes alternative genetic systems as well as other topics where the Benner group is active, including genomics, evolution, and Paleogenetics. The mentioned presentations are our efforts in education and outreach.

Presentations:
1. Synthetic Biology to create biohazard-free platforms for Biotech
2. Artificial DNA in Biological Sensing
3. Knowledge-based Reagents for DNA diagnostics
4. Reagent Innovations for Sensitive, Clean, and Highly Multiplexed Analysis of DNA
5. Practical Synthetic Biology
6. Knowledge-based Reagents for DNA diagnostics
7. Targeted Genomics: Error, Noise, and Signal in Multiplexed DNA Analysis
8. Expanded DNA Alphabets as a Foundation for a New Synthetic Biology
9. Reengineering DNA to Enable Ultra Large Scale DNA Assembly
10. Diagnostics on Demand
11. What Do These DNA Sequences Mean? Evolutionary Approaches to Personalizing Medicine
