EPO Activity: Community Lecture Series

Project Progress

As part of ABRC’s Community Lecture Series, Dr. David Des Marias of NASA Ames, presented
“Exploring Mars for Evidence of Habitable Environments and Life.” This lecture was free and open to the public. During the well-attended event, Dr. Des Marias discussed commonalities between Earth and Mars, the geography and surface environment and changes in the Mars climate, evidence for water in the planet’s early history, the subsurface geologic record and support for subsurface water, the challenges of mars exploring mars, and robotic exploration missions searching for evidence of life. Dr. Des Marias’ lecture was May 5, 2010 and had an attendance of about 110 people.
