Project Progress

Co-I Robert Hazen presented 45 lectures for the general public and the broader scientific community on the topics of Mineral Evolution, Mineral Surfaces and the Origins of Life. These included talks at university and college campuses, presentations at scientific conferences for non-astrobiologists and lectures for the general public across the USA and internationally. Hazen has also been featured on National Public Radio’s ‘Science Friday’ and ‘Morning Edition’ and on Discovery Science TV’s ‘Sci-Fi Science’.
Co-I Alan Boss presented several public lectures on the topic of The Crowded Universe: The Search for Living Planets in venues ranging from university campuses, to town halls and corporate headquarters. He was also featured in 9 live or taped radio and television interviews for local, national and international audiences.
Co-I Sean Solomon presented 10 lectures for the general public and the broader scientific community on the topic of the formation, evolution and potential habitability of the two smaller terrestrial planets, Mercury and Mars. He also featured in several interviews for the broadcast media and public popular press.
