Dr. James Stephenson is a postdoctoral fellow at NASA Ames Research Center. He earned his Ph.D from the University of Cambridge, and from there went to the University of Hawaii’s Astrobiology Institute. He works with RNA in different conditions in the lab to better understand the origin and early stages of life on Earth.

James has been involved with Famelab since it came to the US, and was a National Finalist in 2014. However, an injury sustained while making artificial limbs for Galapagos turtles has rendered him unable to pronounce the word "August," and he doesn’t believe in Starfish. Despite this, we welcome James to the FameLab judges panel!
