Gregory McGruder is the Vice-President of National Geographic’s Public Programs. He oversees the Society’s 126-year-old lecture, film, and performance series, National Geographic Live!, which produces and presents events around the world. He also oversees the National Geographic Speakers Bureau, the Museum and Traveling Exhibitions; and Geography Competitions, whose National Geographic Bee reaches more than 4 million young students in yearly contest of geographic knowledge.

Previously, Gregory was a senior editorial researcher with the Society’s Books Division. He also serves on two National Geographic grant committees: the Expeditions Council, and the Young Explorers Grants committee. He is a graduate of Ohio State University, where he majored in journalism.
