In Memoriam: Dr. Baruch S. "Barry" Blumberg 1925 - 2011
It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of our founding director, Dr. Baruch “Barry” Blumberg, a great friend, a remarkable human being, and a continuing supporter and advocate for astrobiology. He died yesterday at a meeting here at Ames Research Center doing what he loved — advancing science, exploration, and opportunities for young researchers. We at NAI are all deeply saddened by this tragic loss, as is everyone who knew Barry.
