      TERC Astrobiology High School Curriculum

      The Ames team continues to coordinate trainings and lessons with the publisher and curriculum producers. The curriculum is introduced at all National Conferences, Space Day, individual classrooms, districts, and Science Corps wokshop formats. This allows for training of trainers which brings the Astrobiology Curriculum into the hands of thousands of educators through a variety of marketing opportunites.

      Astrobiology – An Integrated Approach, has recently been published with “It’s About Time”. TERC: sample activities, recent developments, and an outline of the course are located at http://astrobio.terc.edu. Its About Time astrobiology program information is available at www.its-about-time.com.
      This was a culmination of three years of content input and review that included the NASA Ames Astrobiology team with TERC and a grant from the National Science Foundation. This full year science curriculum course is designed expressly for 9th grade students. This is a truly integrated high school science textbook, which seamlessly weaves biology, chemistry, physics, and Earth and space science throughout one curriculum. Astrobiology: An Integrated Approach is interdisciplinary and the concept threads for this program include: The Astrobiology Story, Nature of Science, Science s Inquiry, Structure of the Universe, Energy Mathematics, Structure of Matter, Nature of Life Habitability.
