NAI Executive Council in-person meeting, Sept 14-16 at Fayetteville, NY

The NAI Executive Council meeting on September 14-16, 2011 will be held at Fayetteville, NY, hosted by NAI teams at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Penn State University.

Lodging Reservations

Each meeting participant must call the Craftsman Inn to reserve a room. The deadline for making room reservations is August 14, 2011. When calling for a reservation, please mention that you are reserving a room for the “NAI Executive Council Meeting.”

The cost per room is $93 per night + tax (13.0%).

Travel

Syracuse is the closest airport (about 20 minutes away). Transportation will be provided for the field excursions, so there is no need to rent a car.

Wednesday, Sept 14
– All day meeting at Craftsman Inn and Conference Center
– 6pm: Social hour

Thursday, Sept 15
– Morning: meeting at Craftsman Inn and Conference Center
– Afternoon: walking excursion at Green Lake to view and sample microbial bioherms; microscopes will be available in the lodge (the Old Administration Building) to examine samples of diverse cyanobacteria and protists
– 6pm: group dinner

Friday, Sept 16
Morning: Optional half-day boat excursion to sample chemocline water; microscopes will be available in the lodge (the Old Administration Building) to examine samples of anoxygenic phototrophs
