    Local Travel

Travel options from the Airport to the Georgia Tech Hotel:

    1. Take a cab from the airport to the hotel. The ride is approximately 20-25 minutes with an estimated cost of $30-40.

    2. Another option is MARTA. Marta is the transit system for the City of Atlanta and stops directly at the airport. The cost to ride the train is $2.00 one-way. From the airport, board the Northbound (either Doraville or North Springs) train and exit at the Midtown train station. From Midtown, exit on the Peachtree Place side and catch the Tech Trolley (no charge). The Trolley will take you directly to the Georgia Tech Hotel located in Tech Square (the first stop). The Tech trolley runs approximately every 7-10 minutes during the week (7:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m.) and every 30 minutes on the weekend.

Getting to the NAI Meeting site from GT Hotel:

Simply walk outside of the hotel and cross 5th Street. The Trolley stop is located right in front of Moe’s Restaurant. IBB is the 4th stop on the Trolley. The 4th stop will be in front of the Marcus Nanotechnology Building. Exit the Trolley and the Petit Biotechnology Building is adjacent to the Marcus Nanotechnology Building on the right.

If you are in the walking mood, IBB is four blocks from the hotel down 5th Street/Ferst Drive (5th Street becomes Ferst Drive after crossing Fowler Street).

If you have any questions, feel free to call Gary Longstreet (who works with Loren at GIT) at 404-246-2099.

Note: On Thursday morning, Gary will be at the hotel lobby at 7:30 to escort a group from the hotel to the meeting site. You may join this group, or come on your own using the directions above.

Transportation will be provided to and from the dinner at Loren’s house and the aquarium tour.
