  1. August 25-26, 2010 Executive Council In-Person Meeting

    The August 2010 NAI Executive Council meeting will be hosted by the University of Hawaii, Manoa team.

    Transportation

    Hilo is the closest airport and is recommended. Hilo is about a 1 hour drive from the KMC (there is an airport at Kona, but it’s about a 3 hour drive).

    There is a KMC shuttle that leaves Hilo airport at 11:00am, 1:30pm and 3:45pm each day. For returning to the Hilo airport the shuttle leaves the KMC lobby at 8:30am, 12:00pm, and 2:30pm. A one-way ticket on the shuttle costs $10. Guests must call to reserve a seat on the shuttle, at least 48 hours in advance! Call 808-967-8333 to make a shuttle reservation.

    There are rental cars at the Hilo airport for those that prefer to drive. Driving directions are on the KMC website. A taxi (one way) between Hilo and KMC is ~$80-$100.

    Lodging Reservations

    Each meeting participant must call the KMC to reserve a room. The deadline for making room reservations is July 16. Call 808-967-8333 and refer to reservation # 24E2SS.

    The following accommodations are available:

    • Two-bedroom, 1 bath cottages, shared by 2 people.
      The cost for a 2 bedroom cottage is $175 per unit, i.e. $87.50 per person.

    • Three-bedroom, 2 bath apartments, shared by 3 people.
      The cost for a 3 bedroom apartment is $202 per unit, i.e. $67.33 per person.

    If you wish to share a cottage or apartment with specific people, please indicate that in the registration form below, AND tell the KMC with whom you wish to share when you call to reserve your lodging.

    There are single rooms available but they are above per diem and not recommended for that reason.
