  1. Question

What actions would be taken if alien life was found?

The actions depend on what kind of alien life were found, and where, but in all cases the discovery would be announced to the public. There would be no reason to keep such exciting information secret. If the evidence is of fossil life (in a Mars rock, for example), then it would probably be announced and published by the scientists doing the research that found the fossils. If a future Mars mission discovers life, you can expect a big press conference from NASA. If the SETI searchers looking for a signal from intelligent aliens should succeed, they have a carefully worked out procedure for first notifying other scientists to verify the signal, then making a general announcement.
