  1. Question

Hello, I have a question about Evolution on life. If we (humans) have existed for billions of years why is the Bible only two thousand years old?

One of the impressive achievements of science is the ability to date past events with high precision. The general outlines of the history of Earth have been known for more than 100 years, since the discovery of natural radioactivity. Throughout the twentieth century these techniques have improved in accuracy, applying a variety of different radioactive decay rates so as to provide internal checks for accuracy. Thus we know that the Earth is 4.56 billion years old, and that life began on Earth sometime before 3.5 billion years ago. Humans are very much younger. The first humans appeared only a few million years ago, and the first modern humans less than 500,000 years ago. Humans are newcomers, having lived on Earth for less than 0.01 percent of the age of our planet. David Morrison
