  1. Question

Greetings, I cannot help but be skeptical of the govt's ufo claim that they simply do not exist. It is not to say that it isn't out of the realm of plausibility but it is interesting that there is such a large number of professionals and FEMA manuals and ex-army (airforce etc) guys saying there are. When the freedom of info act opened up some documents, everything was blacked out. Very very unnecessary. My question is simply do you have any proof that they don't exist?

Do I have any proof that UFOs don't exist? Of course not. One can't prove a negative, especially when the subject ("UFO") is not defined. The burden of proof lies with those who make such extraordinary claims. I can tell you the simple fact that there is no evidence that I have ever seen that would convince me of the reality of UFOs, and this is the same opinion held by scientists generally and by NASA scientists specifically. If you choose to disbelieve the opinions millions of experts, that is your choice. But then why do you take the trouble to write to "Ask an astrobiologist"? David Morrison
