Question
what ever happened to the medusa spacecraft? I heard it could go a quarter the speed of light.
There is no Medusa spacecraft. It can't move at all, let alone at a quarter of the speed of light. The name Medusa was given to a concept study about ten years ago for a spacecraft that could be powered by nuclear explosions, but nothing was built and none of the technical issues tested or resolved. I am highly skeptical, based on the problems of coupling the energy released by a nuclear explosion into the force required to accelerate the spacecraft. David Morrison
