Question
Is astrobiology one of the science's that would allow you to apply and be considered for the astronaut program?
The astronaut program takes people from many backgrounds, although all have studied science or engineering. Since astrobiology is a new field, no one has applied yet for the astronaut program with astrobiology as their major science subject, but I expect it would be fine for a potential scientist astronaut. You can find out more about the astronaut program at [http://www.jsc.nasa.gov/Bios/more.html]. David Morrison
