  1. Could Kepler Find Avatar's Moon Pandora?

In the new blockbuster Avatar, humans visit the habitable – and inhabited – alien moon called Pandora. Life-bearing moons like Pandora or the Star Wars forest moon of Endor are a staple of science fiction. With NASA’s Kepler mission showing the potential to detect Earth-sized objects, habitable moons may soon become science fact. If we find them nearby, a new paper by Smithsonian astronomer Lisa Kaltenegger shows that the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) will be able to study their atmospheres and detect key gases like carbon dioxide, oxygen, and water vapor.

If Pandora existed, we potentially could detect it and study its atmosphere in the next decade,” said Lisa Kaltenegger of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA).

we are just like an ant in this universe.we may think that we are the best, but when we can find the alien habitat(one day definitely we will find it),only then we can feel our limitations. We are not alone.the universe is much more bigger than we could think.

Why is everyone question that their might be life on other planets? Everyone acts like earth is so unique, but we already have enough evidence out there to prove other forms of life exsist, not just on earth but pieces on other planets too. When you guys find out about another planet similar to earth, let me know. But thanks for all the fun info.

      Hello Lisa:
My daughter is a junior in high school and is intensely interested in space science and human habitable moon for the next younger generations because she believes that humans are going to destroy our planet . . . global warming, radiation, etc

Can you please give her some advise as to which educational and/or career path should she be considered at this juncture before she apply for her college admission. She is also interested in environmental science/biology at Diamond Bar High School in Diamond Bar, California.

      Hope to hear from soon.

      Helena’s Dad, Michael

As I wrote in my articles, we should point Arecibo Radio Telescope on Alpha Centauri to send Avatar movie and other real human news too. I hope that first terrestrial planet found by Kepler Space Telescope could be dedicated to James Cameron’s Avatar Panfora Planet.
