AbSciCon 2010 Student Funding Opportunity
The NASA Astrobiology Institute is making funds available for students and postdocs to attend the Astrobiology Science Conference (AbSciCon) 2010 in League City, Texas, on April 26-29, 2010. Those who meet the eligibility requirements are invited to apply for funding by filling out the form below. The deadline for applications is Friday, March 5. Award decisions will be made and applicants notified by Friday, March 19.
Payment will be by stipends, mailed to students after the conference. The amount of the stipends is $750 for those who must travel to Houston to attend. Stipends of $100 are available for undergrad/grad students who live in the Houston area, and $200 for postdocs who live in the Houston area, to cover registration.
Please note that AbSciCon student travel awards have also been offered through the AbSciCon website (applications were due on Jan 3 and announcement of awards is expected on Feb 23). If an application was sent in to that opportunity already, there is no need to submit another one. NAI is coordinating with meeting organizers and is informed of applications that have been received already.
Eligibility
- Undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdocs (who are within five years of receiving their doctorate) are eligible
- Applicants must be affiliated with a U.S. institution and must name an advisor who will be contacted for concurrence
